On Friday, March 1st, staff members from ReidGoodwin once again volunteered at local elementary schools in the Richmond area to support “Read Across America” Day. Our volunteers were able to choose a book and read to classes at Broad Rock, G.H. Reid, Barack Obama, and J. H. Blackwell Elementary Schools.
“Read Across America” supports ReidGoodwin’s community outreach program, “ReidGoodwin’s Reading Corner”. We started this program in 2018 with the mission to give back to Richmond Public Schools. At ReidGoodwin, we recognize the vital role these schools play in supporting our families and community. To participate in “ReidGoodwin’s Reading Corner”, every month schools submit a grant proposal describing how the $500.00 grant money will better enhance their library and reading programs. To date, ReidGoodwin has awarded 12 Reading Corner grants to Elementary, Middle and High Schools across the City of Richmond.
We look forward to more opportunities to give back to our local schools and connect with our community. For more information on ReidGoodwin’s Reading Corner and how to get involved, click here!
