Team Members to support and help set up for
The Giving Heart’s Community Thanksgiving Feast!
This coming Wednesday, ReidGoodwin team members will be volunteering their time and skills at the “Wednesday Setup” for The Giving Heart’s Community Thanksgiving Feast. Like previous years, team members from ReidGoodwin and many other volunteers will travel to the Richmond Convention Center the day before Thanksgiving to help sort clothing and toiletries, make table centerpieces, and bag food items in preparation for the Community Thanksgiving Feast. It has been our pleasure to lend a helping hand in the past and our office is excited to volunteer again this year.
Set every year on Thanksgiving, The Giving Heart hosts a Community Feast for those in the Richmond area. The Giving Heart is an organization that strives to provide food, fellowship, and essential items to those in need. They also provide different services along with the dinner, and free transportation through GTRC. Those in need are able to come for a meal, a haircut, and items that they may need, like clothing and hygiene essentials.
Although there are no more volunteer spots available for the “Wednesday Setup”, many volunteer opportunities are still available for the day-of the Thanksgiving Feast. The Giving Heart is also in need of the following to prepare for the Feast:
- 3-4 people to carry boxes to our storage container. Flexible any day this week or next weekend. Before 5 pm. (Community Service hours available.)
- 10-12 walkie talkies
- 1 large coffee urn
- 3 hot beverage Cambros (insulted)
- Bags of candy for making centerpieces
- Bags of pasta for a craft project
The team at ReidGoodwin is thrilled to be apart of a community that strives to give back and come together. If you or anyone you may know would like to sign up for the Thanksgiving Feast, you can do so by clicking here; by contacting Vicki Neilson at vneilson@thegivingheart.org; or by calling 804-749-4726.
The Giving Heart is always accepting donations that help support their events and to give to those in need. Everything helps and all donations are greatly appreciated. Check out what items are still needed below!
