Reid Goodwin At The 2017 VTLA Convention

This past weekend, the attorneys of ReidGoodwin attended the annual VTLA convention at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association is a voluntary bar association established in 1959, dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, skills and professionalism of trial lawyers and committed to improving the law and the fairness of Virginia’s system of justice. The VTLA has approximately 2,000 members across the Commonwealth, representing clients in a large number of practice areas who spend a substantial portion of their time in the courtroom. The Association works to educate the public about the role of trial lawyers and the importance of the jury in our justice system.

The VTLA convention was a 3 day seminar focusing on everything from general updates on case law, to specific lectures from various attorneys who are experts in their areas of practice. The attorneys have a chance to discuss their practices, learn new strategies, and improve upon their own approach to cases that are brought to trial. On Saturday morning, the ReidGoodwin team hosted a coffee with Judges from all over the state. It was attended by many well known and well respected members of the legal community. As all of our attorneys are very active members in the VTLA, we look forward to hosting more gatherings to encourage open conversations about the development of Virginia law. Here at ReidGoodwin, we see these conferences as incredible learning opportunities. The information taken away from this weekend will positively impact the work that we do for our clients.
