October 21, 2014- Hanover, Va.
At approximately 3:00 A.M. on October 12, 2014, a tractor trailer overturned and caught on fire after running off the road.
The accident occurred on I-95 north near the Lewistown Road interchange (mile marker 89) after a vehicle cut in front of the tractor trailer, causing it to run off the road, hit a guard rail, overturn, and catch on fire.
While the truck was not carrying hazardous material, its fuel tank was ruptured as a result of the crash.
Thankfully, the tractor trailer driver, Todd M. Gerver, age 55, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was not injured in the crash.
Many other drivers involved in tractor trailer accidents, however, are not so lucky. With their substantial size and weight, tractor trailers are unwieldy and often difficult to maneuver. Accidents involving tractor trailers often lead to serious injury and financial hardship.
In Virginia, individuals who are injured in accidents involving tractor trailer may be entitled to worker’s compensation or even financial compensation from negligent parties.
Whether a truck drivers, trucking company, track manufacturer, management company or other negligent driver is responsible for resulting accident-related injuries, an experienced legal counselor can help victims receive maximum financial compensation.
