A head-on collision on Mountain Road just east of New Farrington Court in Hanover County left one person was killed and another injured.

The accident occurred when a westbound 2011 Toyota Camry crossed into the east lane and collided with a 2012 Hyundai Veloster.

The driver of the Toyota, David E. Knuckles, 34, of Montpelier died at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai was taken to VCU Medical Center.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.

If it is determined that Mr. Knuckles’ negligence caused the Hyundai driver’s injuries, the Hyundai driver may be able to sue Mr. Knuckles’ estate under a theory of personal injury liability.
