Common Autumn Injuries

As autumn rolls in, seasonal changes can bring increased risk factors for injury. Stay aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for the following injury risks:

  • Fallen leaves and other foliage can create slippery walkways and roads, especially after rain. Wear shoes with good traction and watch your step.
  • Use proper ladder safety when cleaning gutters or trimming high branches. Always have a spotter hold the bottom of the ladder.
  • Remain vigilant for deer, racoons, and other wildlife that may enter the roadway, especially in the evening or early in the morning.
  • Fog decreases visibility. Use your fog lights and drive with caution.
  • Stay aware of weather conditions that may affect road safety and leave with plenty of time to get to your destination.

If you or anyone you know is accidentally injured, call the law office of ReidGoodwin at 804-415-7800 for your free, no obligation consultation.
