A Reminder From ReidGoodwin For The New Year

ReidGoodwin wants to remind you at the end of this holiday season to continue to drive safely and stay alert on the roadways as we enter the new year. Statistically, the period from Christmas to New Year’s Day (December 24 at 6 p.m. to January 1 at 6 a.m.) has the highest number of crash fatalities.

Celebrations look a lot different this year and many people aren’t traveling as usual. Those who are traveling on our roadways during the COVID-19 have shown to be engaging in more risky behaviors, including driving under the influence. More than 63% of drivers in near fatal or fatal accidents tested positive for alcohol or a drug, with 1 in 5 being highly intoxicated with blood alcohol contents of 0.15 or more.

Please remember to drive safe and sober this new year and encourage those you love to do the same. It could save their life and the lives of others on the road. Let’s avoid these preventable tragedies. Everyone can give the gift of safe driving this holiday season.
